The husband of Sarah Palin is so “disgusted” by the media scandals and her unfaithful ways that he’s decided to file for divorce as soon as possible, thus crushing all her dreams of one day running for President, claims a new report.

Levi Johnston today claimed former Vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin had a ‘cougar crush’ on him while he was dating her daughter. 

The news doesn’t come from the most reliable source, but that is not stopping some media outlets from picking it and running with it as fact.

The National Enquirer claims in its latest issue that it has it on very good authority that Todd Palin is considering his options in terms of filing for divorce from Sarah, the Post Chronicle informs.

“Todd Palin is planning on divorcing Sarah Palin because of her constant political backlash,” the e-zine writes, citing the aforementioned tabloid.

“The Enquirer has claimed that sources close to Sarah Palin and her husband, Todd, say he is ready to file for a divorce as he is ‘fed up’ with the constant scandals that have marred their marriage ever since she ran for vice president,” the report further notes.

While the dissolution of her marriage would certainly be a serious thing, assuming the report is accurate, Sarah would also have to deal with another blow to her political career, in that a divorce might kill her chances in the Presidential run, voices in the blogosphere are saying.

Even ignoring the fact that the report doesn’t come from a verified, reputable source, there’s still something fishy about it, the Post Chronicle points out.

It comes shortly after Todd flew to Sarah’s defense in the press, as Joe McGinniss’ book, “The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin,” came out, making less than flattering allegations about her personal life.

“This is a man who has been relentlessly stalking my family to the point of moving in right next door to us to harass us and spy on us to satisfy his creepy obsession with my wife. His book is full of disgusting lies, innuendo, and smears,” Mr. Palin said in a statement cited by the aforementioned publication.

The 21-year-old is promoting a tell-all book about life with ex-fiancée Bristol’s family.

‘Even growing up my friends would always say that [Palin would flirt], it seems kind of weird,’ Levi told E! News while on tour for Deer in the Headlights: My Life in Sarah Palin’s Crosshairs.

‘Then one of my publishers said she had a cougar crush on me!’

He continued, ‘I guess I’d say, yeah, I think she did now looking back and remembering what everyone said.’

Although he has no evidence that the 47-year-old found him attractive, he swears it must be true. 

‘She never touched me or anything like that! Now it kind of weirds me out thinking about it,’ he says.

Scuttlebutt that Tea Party queen Sarah Palin and her hubby, Todd, are on the brink of divorce doesn’t come as a shock to almost-son-in-law Levi Johnston.

“It wouldn’t surprise me. I’ve said it from day one, their marriage is clearly odd,” Bristol Palin’s baby daddy told the Track.

And if Sarah manages to dodge the scandal from a new tell-all biography and make a bid for the White House, don’t expect this Wasilla homeboy to cast his vote for his son Tripp’s grammy.

“She’s 9 points behind Barack Obama right now. She’s looking good and she’s not even in the race,” said Johnston, who clearly hadn’t seen yesterday’s numbers that had Sarah within 5 points of the prez. “It’s scaring me a bit. I might have to move to Canada. If she’s running, you better believe I’m voting for Obama.”

In his new memoir, “Deer in the Headlights: My Life in Sarah Palin’s Crosshairs,” Johnston opens up about his bizarre time living in the Palin house, where, despite their public show of togetherness, Todd and Sarah were absentee parents who showed little affection to their kids, he says.

“Not huggy,” Levi says of Mama Grizzly and her hubby.

Despite his own passionate love affair with Bristol — which included an interlude in the Palins’ jacuzzi while Sarah and Todd were out — Levi says their relationship has soured in recent years. Big shock.

“We don’t have good communication with each other,” Levi says of his ex, who is living in Los Angeles, where she’s filming a reality show.

“Even when she’s home, it’s hard for me to get a hold of (Tripp),” Levi says. “I’m looking forward to when we go to court.”

As for Bristol’s revamped face, Levi says his ex is “not the Bristol I once knew. She seems to be changing for the worse. The money, the fame, the media. I’m not very fond of it.”

As for the future, Levi hopes to start a wilderness guide business with his father. That is, if his reality show pilot isn’t picked up.

“Who knows what’s gonna come with this?” Levi told the Track. “More importantly, I’d like to have a normal life back in Wasilla with my son and my guiding business.”

Levi Johnston reveals if Bristol Palin’s pregnancy was an accident and if he thinks Sarah Palin would make a good president.

Other allegations in the Alaskan’s book include the claim that Palin owns a tanning bed, can’t load a gun, loathes the outdoors and that she and husband Todd barely speak. 

The Tea Party darling certainly isn’t having the best of weeks, especially given that yet another book about her is dominating headlines.

Joe McGinniss is currently promoting his explosive biography, In The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin.

In the book, the former beauty queen is accused of having a night of passion with a basketball star, snorting cocaine and having an affair with her husband’s business partner.

Affair, drugs, and more are claimed in a new book written by a man who moved next door to the Palins so he could stalk them 24/7.

“The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin,” a book about Palin written by Joe McGinniss, had a Sept. 20 release date.

Todd Palin, in a statement released Wednesday, said, “This is a man who has been relentlessly stalking my family to the point of moving in right next door to us to harass us and spy on us to satisfy his creepy obsession with my wife. His book is full of disgusting lies, innuendo, and smears,” USA Today reported last Thursday.

Clearly Todd is disgusted with the lies surrounding Sarah – so would it really be in character for him to divorce her over them? You be the judge.
