9 European Monarchs pose for a photograph at the funeral of King Edward VII of the United Kingdom on 20 May 1910. It was largest gathering of European royalty ever to take place.
Standing, from left to right: King Haakon VII of Norway, Tsar Ferdinand of the Bulgarians, King Manuel II of Portugal and the Algarves, Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany and King of Prussia, King George I of the Hellenes and King Albert I of the Belgians. Seated, from left to right: King Alfonso XIII of Spain, King George V of the United Kingdom and King Frederick VIII of Denmark.

I’m pretty sure King George V and the Tsar are cousins

I notice that seven are wearing left shoulder/right hip sashes, while two have right shoulder/left hip. Does this have any bar dexter/bar sinister meaning?

Imagine how the next 40 years would have unfolded differently if a meteorite had hit the building at that moment.
WW1, WW2, unraveling of much of the colony system, Spanish civil war?

The 2003 BBC One film of Stephen Poliakoff’s “The Lost Prince” has a scene recreating this gathering. One of my favorite historical dramas of the period leading up to and continuing through World War I. Bill Nighy and Tom Hollander are superb in their roles.
Algaemans
Pretty sure that that is the game theory guy, third from the top left
goochsanders
What language would they even communicate to each other in?

One will fight for you. The others will try to kill you. Choose wisely.

If these guys played musical chairs, would it technically be a game of thrones?

Probably because in a few years most of them would be removed from power

Is there a reason nobody looks at the camera?
