Kushner Under Fire for Receiving $30M From Israeli Firm While Shaping Middle East Policy

President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner is once more under intense scrutiny after new reporting revealed that his lucrative financial relationship with Israel has deepened even as his influence over U.S. Middle East policy—from his leading role in Trump’s effort to “derail” a U.N. vote against Israel to his sway over the president’s Jerusalem move—has continued to grow.
According to a report published Sunday by the New York Times, Kushner’s real estate firm received a $30 million investment from Menora Mivtachim—one of Israel’s largest financial institutions—just before he accompanied Trump on his first diplomatic trip to Israel last year.
“The deal, which was not made public, pumped significant new equity into 10 Maryland apartment complexes controlled by Mr. Kushner’s firm,” the Timesnotes. “While Mr. Kushner has sold parts of his business since taking a White House job last year, he still has stakes in most of the family empire—including the apartment buildings in and around Baltimore.”
Jared Kushner’s family has long been friends with Benjamin Netanyahu and a slew of other elite Israeli hardliners and Netanyahu even slept over one night at Kushner’s house in New Jersey back in the 90’s.
Now we are expected to believe that despite being from an ultra wealthy family that has long financially supported many Zionist causes, that Jared Kushner is going to be a fair broker of peace among the Israeli’s and Palestinians?
It’s a completely ridiculous notion.
Furthermore, this is how little they care about trying to keep the open conflict of interest there a secret, Kushner just received $30 million from an Israeli firm, right after his father-in-law, Trump, just declared still divided Jerusalem, the capital of Israel.
That seems like as much a quid-pro-quo as you can possibly get.
The scandal is not Russia-gate, the scandal is really Israel-gate.
rwbombc: Read up on the Kushner family if you want to raise your blood pressure. A den of snakes through and through. You could legitimately call them evil and not many would disagree. Much of their fortune is reportedly ill-gotten and the father has served prison time. Not sure why he’s still whispering in daddy in Law’s ear and how long he’s managed to avoid scrutiny.
Not sure how hardcore republicans can defend him when he himself isn’t even republican. A shining example of how money can intersect with politics via marriage seamlessly in modern feudalism. Take notes, China.

FootballJedi: Bringing Kushner into his administration in an official capacity has been the single greatest mistake of his presidency. Kushner being Trump’s son in law, basically can not be fired, and hiring someone you can’t fire is almost always a mistake. Kushner is also a scumbag. Self-serving c—.
mphatik: Not to mention, Bibi sleeps in Kushner’s personal bed when he comes to visit in the US.
No conflict of interest here guys, move along! F–kin’ lobbies in America run American Congress, money talks and 99% of us don’t have it.
America will be gutted from the inside out within a few decades, once the host country is emptied and drained, the zionists will just move to the next big country that they can “meld” into … Likely China.
I think Adolf Hitler during his speeches pre-1940’s talked about the zionists going into Germany’s Black Forest abundant with food for all, only to be completely stripped clean, and left for dead once it was used up.
dfu3568ete6: What pisses me off the most is its a blatant violation of nepotism law. Him and Ivanka have no business holding the positions they’ve been given or representing our fucking country.

A new report indicates that President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner holds a series of strong and shady financial ties to Israel, even as the administration insists he serves as a legitimate broker for potential peace efforts in the Middle East.
Submission statement: The very nature of engaging in a veiled monetary agreement with Israeli firms/government actors is an indication Kushner is not fit for the role of over seeing a peace process Trump seems intent on subverting.
The $30 million “kickback” only scratches the surface of Kushner’s financial conflicts of interests in the region that make the prospect of a fair solution seem bleak at the absolute best.
“The ethics laws were not crafted by people who had the foresight to imagine a Donald Trump or a Jared Kushner, Robert Weissman, the president of the nonprofit government ethics group, Public Citizen, told the Times. “No one could ever imagine this scale of ongoing business interests, not in a local peanut farm or a hardware store but sprawling global businesses that give the president and his top adviser personal economic stakes in an astounding number of policy interests.”
The Trump administration has defended itself, with a White House official saying Kushner “takes the ethics rules very seriously and would never compromise himself or the administration,” the Times reported.
Kushner’s disclosure forms had “100 errors and omissions and multiple updates,” Newsweek reported in October.
Kushner’s family foundation also continues to donate heavily to a group that constructs the illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank, a group largely seen as “one of the main obstacles to a two-state solution,” ProPublica reported.
The Kushners have also engaged in real estate deals with “at least one member of Israel’s wealthy Steinmetz family to buy nearly $200 million of Manhattan apartment buildings, as well as to build a luxury rental tower in New Jersey.” Beny Steinmetz, the most well-known member of the family, is the subject of a bribery investigation by the Justice Department, the Times reported.
“A lot of people wonder whether the United States has ever been an honest broker in the Middle East, and given the positions of the Trump administration, it’s probably even more vulnerable to those claims,” Richard W. Painter, the former chief ethics lawyer for the Bush administration told the Times. Using Kushner, the U.S. is “sending over a special envoy who has already identified himself personally more with the hawkish views,” he added.
“He [Kushner] is getting money from wealthy citizens and businesses in one particular country,” Painter said. “You’ve got a situation that is going to be abused by people who don’t like the United States. He’s going to make it that much worse.”
bradok: Now this is getting at something deeper here. The Russia collusion stuff is a red herring…the real conspiracy has never been Trump himself but always Kushner and those Trump surrounds himself with. Kushner is, and always has been, bad news. And he’s always been Trumps Achilles heel, because he trusts him and is married to his favorite child- Ivanka.
And this doesn’t even dive into the old David Icke forum posts about Kushners possible role in Blue Beam…and those posts were made back in ’08 when Kushner was still a nobody.
dagonn3: *”The business dealings don’t appear to violate federal ethics laws, which require Mr. Kushner to recuse himself only from narrow government decisions that would have a “direct and predictable effect” on his financial interests. And no evidence has emerged that Mr. Kushner was personally involved in brokering the deal.”*
Quote from the NYT article that this Salon article is quoting. [NYT article here](https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/07/business/jared-kushner-israel.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=first-column-region®ion=top-news&WT.nav=top-news)
How exactly is a legal business deal that Kushner wasn’t personally involved in an issue?
thecaptainofcrunch: Oliver Stone said of alleged and thus far totally unproved Russian interference,
“Israel had far more involvement in the US election than Russia, why don’t you ask me about that?”
JoeyBulgaria: Notice how several people in here are trying to use this as evidence that the Russia investigation must not be legitimate.
It’s not one or the other, it’s likely both.
