This appears more to be a “Tintype” than a Daguerreotype. Daguerreotypes need to be viewed from a particular angle, otherwise they appear in the negative.
Also, tintype was a much more portable process, suitable to outdoor use such as this. Daguerreotype is a much more difficult process, especially out of a studio.
