Russia used to handle Finland’s nuclear material. They drove the depleted uranium tanksto the Kuala peninsula and dropped them into the sea. Those tanks that floated, received a shot from AK-47 to make them sink faster.
I imagine that the kuala peninsula has loads of many eyed fish.

There was some joke website for a fictional municipality. One of the things mentioned was that a local intellectual had realized that since the density of uranium is greater the density of water, it can be dumped in the local lake and it will safely sink to the bottom and cannot escape. Therefore they used the lake as a nuclear disposal site.
Other local sights for tourists included the glowing aquatic moose population.
