Nobody knew what the hell they were fighting for, and when they were done, they *still* didn’t know what they had fought for. Then millions of them went home just to die of Spanish Influenza. People who survived that, suffered the worldwide Depression. People who survived that got the privilege of seeing their children erase their sacrifices and die in yet another global war.
