Greatest Russian feat of arms in WW1, they focused their offensive vs Austrians using fact that Vienna pulled several divisions from Eastern front for offensive vs Italy and managed to broke through their lines.
To save Austria-Hungary from collapse Germans were forced to halt Verdun offensive and send several division to the eastern front to save Austrian army.
Casualties were massive on both sides
Austria-Hungary suffered close to 1 million casualties (combined dead, wounded, captured) in only 3 months of fighting (Britannica says even above million)

They’re almost entirely outfitted with mausers. Supply problems must have already started for them already at this point.
