> Veronica Foster, (January 2, 1922 – 2000), popularly known as “Ronnie, the Bren Gun Girl”, was a Canadian icon representing nearly one million Canadian women who worked in the manufacturing plants that produced amunitions and material during World War II.
> Foster worked for John Inglis Co. Ltd producing Bren light machine guns on a production line on Strachan Avenue in Toronto, Ontario. She can be seen as the Canadian precursor to the American cultural icon Rosie the Riveter.
> She became popular after a series of propaganda posters were produced; most images featured her working for the war effort, but others depicted more casual settings like Foster dancing the jitterbug or attending a dinner party.
It’s probably staged/posed but looks badass nonetheless.
I’m trying to imagine how the grip coming out of the bottom of the stock would be used.
So she made Brownings?

That’s the kind of girl you’d build a time machine for a chance to get her number.
Is she single? Nope, looked again, she’s a full automatic. Nice.
Women and guns, two things I like, it’s day one of no nut November, I can do this, I can do this.
“Couldn’t you have brought something more practical?”
There’s been a decline of lung cancer deaths since her generation peaked in mortality. It’s still the leading cause of cancer death, and cancer as a cause of death accounts for maybe 25% of deaths each year, so it’s right up at the top of the list behind heart disease.
Of course, machine gun, mass casualty, assault rifle moralities have risen considerably in the US over the same time frame.
