A crowd of people surround a weeping French woman who had a romantic relationship with a German during the occupation. The Resistance shaved her head and then paraded her through the streets for citizens to mock and berate. Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône. 1944. [969 x 638]

Serves her right. As a sympathizer she got off easy.
Where’s the women with the bells, saying “shame”?
No doubt all those other people pictured bravely resisted the Germans./s
Funny how they waited for allies to do all the hard work before they started to hold and humiliate women at gun point. The French resistance being of any significant contribution is a myth.
