A very cool photo with a few things to point out. First and foremost, this soldier is wearing a captured Waffen-SS winter parka, which, if my research proves to be correct, is likely a fur-lined M43 Kharkov parka. Also worth noting are the taped 30-round magazines in his M1A1 Thompson for a faster reload in a pinch. And of course, one can’t overlook the puppy companion in this GI’s lap.
