His name was William J. Kirkpatrick and he was a deaf 76 year old tourist from Michigan. He was looking through the glass at some clocks for sale as Dallas Egan and his accomplices robbed the store of $5,000 in jewelry, and when Egan noticed Kirkpatrick he shot him through the window.
Egan was arrested and he gave an excuse of: "I have him full warning" as to why he shot Kirkpatrick. He was later executed on October 20th, 1933.
