Wedding, Berlin was a working class district of Berlin and a stronghold of the Communist party. Pharus hall was their unofficial headquarters. The Nazi party held rallies here in 1927 in a deliberate attempt to antagonise the KDP. The propagandist Goebells was a speaker on the night where there were numerous injuries. He wrote, “A decisive day in the history of the National Socialist movement in Berlin was behind us.”
Definitely read that as “bar crawl” initially.
Was it ever a tangible possibility during Weimar that Germany would have went through a communist revolution instead of what happened?
apart from being good read as belletristic, books by erich maria remarque give precious insight into that part of german history.
This is what Antifas think they’re doing today….only they are the fascists.
Is it safe to say that when the nazis took full control all the kpd members in the brawl were killed via camp or executed?
The two lowest forms of life on the planet
Nazis and commies
My thoughts turned immediately to Babylon Berlin
People sure did dress better they. Even for a brawl.
