This is a picture of a disabled British MK1, most certainly a long time before 1940. Really cool though!

I question that it was taken in 1940. There is no vegetation to speak of. This is 20 years later yet the few trees shown are still war torn. After such a long time new tree sprouts should have emerged.

So this is a WW1 tank that was still there? Wow, I had no ideas there were battlefields left untended to that degree between the two world wars.
