My children are in high school with 3 friends who moved to Canada from China within the last 4 or 5 years & during class one day the subject of Tiananmen Square was brought up and none of the Chinese students never even knew what had happened, some of those students went home to ask their parents about it and my children tell me only one of those children’s parents knew about it and would speak to them about it. The story of Tiananmen Square is a strong memory for most of the world but doesn’t register in the zeitgeist Chinese culture.

Remember this image when some ccp apologist tries to explain that culturally Chinese people don’t like democracy and prefer authoritarian governments

This wasn’t just a student. She was their leader! Chai Ling. A goddess among men. A leader amongst cowards. The govt had to mow them down with automatics and tanks to get them to quiet down. The students resisted time and time again. She stayed with them on the front lines until the unnamed man stood up and challenged the man behind the wheel of a TANK to get them to let up.
Sweet Jesus. How many times must we see the power being taken from the people and and concur in silence…?
“Power is the people and the politics we address.”
