The attention of the second from the right seems to have been distracted by something behind ‘Der Führer’ for some reason. Wonder what it could’ve been. If it was by Baldur, he might possibly be forgiven. Wondering what Baldur himself is distracted by, maybe.
I can sort of make out, looking at this, how Hitler could play peoples’ emotions like a musical instrument. That face and body language just so loudly announce "all respect and cameraderie!", but are yet so ‘right on the edge’ of extreme severity at the slightest lapse in loyalty or performance.
Or maybe my imagination’s just projecting what I already know about Hitler onto the picture, IDK.

I wonder what they were up to 7 or 8 years later ?

Meeting Hitler would have been a proud moment for these boys and one to which they had dedicated their whole educational journey hoping to achieve one day.
So as much as these people were no doubt of questionable moral standing, understatement of the century with the big man himself of course, it is nonetheless an interesting piece of history. Cool post

Correct, indoctrinated young men who made some terrible decisions. Still an interesting historical picture

Each time that I watch pictures of hitler youth kids in the 30’s I ask to myself "Did they die on Germany, Poland or the USSR?"
Are there stats on how many Hitler Youth died on the war? I don’t believe that is 100% but neither a 10%

Is Hitler waiting for a high five from the guy behind him but isn’t getting one?
