I can’t imagine not being able to swim. It’s such a foreign concept where I grew up.
Also lacked the common sense to wear a life jacket.
Once you’re out of sight of land knowing how to swim becomes a liability.
You never need to know how to swim if you sail well
For a genius, that’s a very un calculated risk.
I read his biography by Walter Isaacson. The man was a walking trainwreck who just happened to create the theory of relativity. His life was a complete mess. His professors hated him. He couldn’t land a job in academia which is why he worked at a patent office. He consider himself a "bohemian" gypsy type person. Never knew where he left his keys type of guy.
I look up to him. He didn’t give a single fuck.
wow, can you image that? man who didn’t even know to swim, loves sailing. what’s next? man who didn’t even know how to fly got in the airplane??
