From wiki:
The Holodomor (Ukrainian: Голодомо́р;[a][2] derived from морити голодом, “to kill by starvation”)[3][4][5] was a man-made famine in Soviet Ukraine in 1932 and 1933 that killed millions of Ukrainians. It is also known as the Terror-Famine and Famine-Genocide in Ukraine,[6][7][8] and sometimes referred to as the Great Famine[9] or The Ukrainian Genocide of 1932–33.[10] It was part of the wider Soviet famine of 1932–33, which affected the major grain-producing areas of the country. During the Holodomor, millions of inhabitants of Ukraine, the majority of whom were ethnic Ukrainians, died of starvation in a peacetime catastrophe unprecedented in the history of Ukraine.[11]

It was the USSRs fault, they actively went around telling the poor to kill the few high-level farmers in their areas and take their land. They also stole all of the food from farmers to take to the city’s and left them to starve. Fun fact: if you went out to your field after harvest and picked up any leftover grains on the ground by hand, you where expected to turn ANY of it over to the govt.
What a great place/time to be alive am I right? We should do it again! /s

r/communism it’s amazing how there are always these people that advocate for an ideology that is one of the more horrific in known history in opposition to those that have lived it. Their ignorance combined with an often pretentious or condescending attitude is astonishing really.
