An M1917 tank and U.S. Army soldiers on patrol in Lexington, Kentucky to keep peace after a large mob tried to lynch Will Lockett, a black man who is on trial for his murder of a young white girl (February 10/11, 1920)
Its interesting what the federal government would try to do to keep the peace for so many years while ignoring the problem.

Acknowledge the truth but don’t linger in the pass.

Interestingly enough, the M1917 light tank never saw actual combat. It was too late for the First World War, and was phased out before the Second World War began.
