The lady first officer certainly was a rarity in 1988. I know this bc my mom was 1 of 13 lady FOs at an equally sized airline this same year, flying the same plane.

I’ve sometimes wondered if a passenger free-falling while held in a airplane seat might survive if they hit water seat-first.
