After they searched him for knifes he looked like that.
Honestly kinda surprised they talked him into hearing a shirt with a collar.
It would be good to laugh with this photo instead of at it if Paul Hogan wasn’t such a massive tool.
She looks like she would not have met him dressed any other way.
Classic royalists, bringing in natives from the colonies.
Larger picture, with caption, from the National Archives of Australia:
>Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh meet Australian entertainers who performed in a Royal Charity Concert at the Sydney Opera House. Performers include (from left): pianist Roger Woodward, comedian Paul Hogan and singer Olivia Newton-John.
Is that Olivia Newton-John?
"Good’day ma’am anywhere I can get a Corgi on a stick I’m starving".
Sad story behind this picture. Apparently the queen demanded he wear the outfit while everyone else dressed up smart so they could point and laugh at him (there are numerous cases of the queen’s prejudice against aussies), hence his embarrassed expression. His wife claimed he believed it was the lowest point of his life.
Was not aware his real name is Paul. He really bulked up for his wrestling career. Surprised he was not wearing his signature bandana…
