How was this loaded? I assume it is loaded from the breech but the term mortar of course distracts me 😃 No way they were able to load it like a modern 120mm through the muzzle.

I have one (disabled) piece of 57mm AA ammo made by Skoda. I can not imagine how this 305mm must have looked and sounded like when in action. The size is impressive.

That pose tho… Looks like his right side should be doing what his left is and vice versa, leaning on the piece
