Overestimated support from indigenous peoples of Bolivia and Bolivian communist party. Underestimated U.S. trained Bolivian special forces. Way overconfident of his ability to create a popular revolution in a foreign country. Ended up trying to fight the Bolivian army with around 50 guerrillas. Not his best idea.

I heard he died in a bush fight with cia but they staged the photo with local forces (that took part in the fight ofc).
