Rika and Waldemar Nods with son – The Netherlands, 1930s. The interracial business family famously hid Jewish citizens in their guesthouses during WWII. Rika was sent to Ravensbrück camp where she died. Waldemar was sent to drown – safely swimming to shore, he was shot down. [1056×1457]

A Harris County sheriff’s deputy wearing surgical gloves to protect him from the poison in Ronald Clark O’Bryan’s deteriorating Pixy Stix.
