They were actually fighting over some islands near Khabarovsk, where my friend lives, if they had won any more land, my friend could be Chinese, that would be interesting, However, there, the are not learning Chinese, but interestingly, Japanese, so my friend, she is learning Japanese, and I am learning English. Cool story and history. Personally, I am from Novosibirsk, which is also near the Chinese border, but not very near to Khabarovsk. Novosibirsk is on the lower Siberian plain, on the Trans-Siberian rail road. Vladivostok is another stop and actually the first stop, or the starting point of the railway, and Khabarovsk is a little above it, but not on the railway stop. Vladivostok is near to North Korea, and China in a triangle point.
