I don’t think this was colorized. The IWM’s website doesn’t say anything about colorization. In fact it says "MINISTRY OF INFORMATION SECOND WORLD WAR COLOUR TRANSPARENCY COLLECTION" indicating the original image is on color slide (positive) film.
This was almost certainly shot on Kodachrome which had first been released for still photography in 1936 and was the only color positive film available at the time.
