Before looking this up, I was able to guess why some of these victims weren’t dressed from the waist down. How tragic. Damn.

Sick and tragic. At least the photos prevent any denial of this tragedy’s perpetration. That is some small good.

I think it’s crazy how personal the Japanese atrocities were. American strategic bombing killed tens of thousands each raid, but those airmen were way high up and just pressing buttons. The Japanese did it practically by hand

This is not from the Nanking massacre, these are Chinese civilian victims of the Japanese bombing of Chongqing.

This is a result of a mass panic during the terror bombings of Chongqing. Interestingly enough, these bombings led to the first embargoes sanctioned by the USA. Sanctions that would ultimately lead to the Japanese attacking Pearl Harbor.

While living in China, I was able to visit the Nanjing Massacre museum in Nanjing. Absolutely amazing. I highly recommend to anyone and everyone. It does not fail to hide the reality of what happened, or sugar coats things. It is gut wrenching, but masterfully and tastefully displayed.
