I’ve never understood how electrocution could be seen as more humane than hangings, hangings are pretty quick, you drop down and die instantly, but here you literally electrocute someone to death, having them suffer for 20-30 seconds until they die, idk it just seems like a step backward to me 🤷♂️

This is actually my home town! This is an item of odd townie pride, in a small but somewhat historically significant city. One of the tackier local bars has (or maybe had, I haven’t been in a few years) a large homage to the event, including a replica chair and skeleton.
