I finished watching Ken Burns “The Roosevelt’s” a few weeks ago. Showed tons of images like this one. It covered quite a bit of the depression (obviously). We really don’t understand just how bad it was. It came closer to bringing down our system of government (and capitalism) than I had any clue of.
Even our poorest today are better off than most of that era.

There’s something about the lines faces of people who have worked hard and seen tough times. Don’t see that as much in the U.S. anymore…
