Serious question: Were French army soldiers outfitted with American gear after D-Day? Those guys all seem to be wearing US helmets, jackets and carrying at least a Garand and a carbine or two.

The first of March 1941, the free french led by then Colonel Leclerc attacked and seized the city of Kufra in Lybia from the italian army, one of the first free french victory.
On this day, Colonel Leclerc made an oath:
"Swear not to lay down arms until our colours, our beautiful colours, fly over Strasbourg Cathedral."
The 24th November 1944, the free french 2nd Armored Division led by General Leclerc entered Strasbourg.
