wanted to show how Gavrilo Princip really looked like, not how you know him from the photo which has been taken in prison after the survey and massive torture’s.
BTW, Novak Djokovic and Gavrilo look extremley similar.
There’s a fantastic Rare Earth episode about him:
Rare Earth – Where Two Bullets Killed Millions
If you squint, he sort of looks like Ryan Reynolds
Princip’s story of that day is one of the craziest chains of improbability in history, especially considering the effect!
all together i have spent several hours in gavrilo cell…ten miutes at time. its a hole in the wall with no windows. he died few months before the war ended and i always wondered if the new czeck government, he was 30 min fron prague, would have given him amnesty since they hated the apsburg and were very happy to be a new nation.
This man changed the world. Very few individuals can truly say that.I wonder if confronted with what happened, whether he would repeat his actions if given the choice.
I’ve never seen this photo – and I would have loved to use it back in my high school history teaching days. It would have been powerful, as he is a young, handsome guy that would have appealed to young, handsome students. Once you have students’ attention, then is the time for real teaching! And what a lesson this assassination story was! I live in Kansas City, home to the outstanding WWI Museum – this is a photograph they should have!
About 20 years ago I visited the concentration camp which had been a prison where they kept him
Style soft like a pillow, for real though, black hand like Gavrilo
Thought it was Kapernick without the fro.
His hair and stubble look very present-day fashion. Odd contrast with the mustachioed policemen behind him
With bruising and hair cut , is that even the same person ??
Is this a still from footage? It looks like it, in which case where’s the footage cause I’d like to see it
Vid’ ga delija, da nam je danas jedan takav de bi nam kraj bio…
Just for the record, few people have ever deserved to be shot as much as Franz Ferdinand- he shot over 200,000 animals in his life, including 2000 caged birds in a day which were released one at a time for him.
Wow. He looks way different than his prison photo.
