Correct me if I’m wrong but is a backwards V sign the same as a regular one? I’m not from England but I’ve always heard that a backwards V was the equivalent of a middle finger or a fig as we do it in my part of Europe. Really curious!

That is the "up yours" British gesture, not a victory gesture at all.
