I highly recommend a visit to the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis. It’s located in the actual former Lorraine Motel and also encompasses the building from which Ray shot King, on the opposite side of the block. Unbelievably moving experience which provides both an emotional, sobering view of the site of King’s murder and a broad, sweeping history of the Civil Rights struggle in America.
