Apparently this guy was a complete nutjob. He told the Army he had hangman experience when in fact he had none, and several of the Nuremberg executions were botched resulting in the condemned strangling to death instead of having their necks broken. A few even hit their heads on the trapdoor on their way down. Which, really, I’m cool with that.

He didn’t do it alone. Albert Pierrepoint carried out over 200 executions of Nazi war criminals. He wasn’t a nutter. He was landlord of a pub.

Heard a story about those 10. One of them yelled "Heil Hitler" as the were mounting the steps to the gallows. That dude ended up screaming, kicking, and choking to death. A guard asked the hangman about it. The hangman explained that he had placed the knot off to the side, not in line with the spine. That way old fuck face would die a horrible death after giving one last salute. Not too sure how true that is, but metal AF if it is.
