My grandfather was stationed at Pearl Harbor in 1937 when Amelia Earhart stopped on her first attempt to circumnavigate the globe ended there with a mechanical issue. We found the pictures he took a couple years ago. (3942×2693)
That is so interesting to see. This was an ordinary day for the mechanics and history in the making. There is an Amelia Earhart museum in Atchison, KS. They would probably love copies. I believe there is a website for her too that would most likely be thrilled.
