I would highly recommend the Hardcore History Podcast, especially the "Supernova in the East" series, as it focuses solely on Japan’s rise and fall before and during WW2. It is fascinating.
Without considering outside interference, could Japan have conquered all China? Or the vast territory and large population would have been sooner or later a problem for the japaneses like the USSR was for the germans?
