Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain holding the text of the Munich Agreement, preparing himself to read it to the crowd at Heston Aerodrome. London, United Kingdom. September 30, 1938. [768×583]
Chamberlain cops a lot of flak but you can’t blame a British Prime Minister back in 1938 for trying to preserve peace. Especially considering WW1 and that we weren’t completely aware yet of what the Nazis were trying to do.
In some ways, Chamberlains attempts at maintaining peace probably provided Britain with more time to prepare for war.
