Interesting how almost all of the sailing ships seem to be merchant vessels that have false gun lines painted on their hulls to scare off potential pirates.

Several of the ships were sunk in the docks and then the bay was filled to expand the usable land. When the foundation for the transamerica pyramid was being excavated they came across remains. So that gives you an idea of how different the shoreline today is compared to this picture.Yerba Buena Cove
