Apparently the Beatles wanted to meet the World Heavyweight Champion and not "That loudmouth who’s going to lose" as John Lennon put it , Sonny Liston however didn’t have any interest in meeting a rock band a few days before the big fight so they opted to meet Cassius Clay instead. I hope John didn’t bet on Sonny, lol.
