[Julia Pastrana](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julia_Pastrana) was a Mexican woman of indigenous heritage with several genetic conditions that gave her a unique appearance. She was a sideshow performer in Europe for a while; she died in Moscow in 1860 due to complications of childbirth. Afterward, her body was embalmed and put on display in Moscow before she faded from public view. Her remains eventually ended up in storage in Norway until 2013, when she was returned to her Native Sinaloa and given a Catholic burial.
