These are the effects of Austro-Hungarian shelling and bombing that started on July 28th 1914, and lasted, with pauses that coincided with different war fortunes of Serbia and Austria, respectively, until October 9th 1915, which was the date of the final fall of Belgrade.
Keep in mind Belgrade was a borderline city at that time, with the Royal court (i just checked using google maps) 1.32 km/0.82 miles from AH soil.
I’m writing this comment because of another commentator here that mentioned Bolsheviks?!? 🙂

Should have been leveled to the ground. Serbia essentially started this war along with the Austrians.
