whiskeypicnic: What an amazing photo.
It’s hard for me to figure out the perspective; is the photographer is on the receiving end of the artillery? Or are both sides firing?
How far away was the photographer from the the mortar fire? Would photographers of the era see the battles from the front line, or remain at a distance and take pictures as the army advanced?
How long was the shutter open to show that much artillery?
And finally, this seems to have sparked an interest; Can anyone recommend any books/media on WWI photojournalism?
