I like how in US History, he is rarely mentioned, or none at all, as being part of the Space Program for the US. His work and research went a long way to accelerate the US space program, he was a big part of it, especially at the beginning. Yet he is rarely credited with any work.
Plenty of material online, and books, sure. But in schools, I do not remember him being mentioned at all.
