By then [the movie](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/With_Fire_and_Sword_(film)) was the most expensive Polish movie film ever made.
The character played by Zborowski played Longinus Podbitięta, a Polish soldier attempting to sneak a letter addressed to the Polish king out of [sieged Zbaraż](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Zbarazh), only to be caught and pierced by quite a lot of arrows.
I can’t believe this hasn’t been turned into a meme yet.
Poland made the coolest movie posters. I’d love to see what this one looked like.
Ah, the Ukraine. Where men are men, and sheep are frightened.
