WILLIS WINN, 1939. Original safety negative by Russell Lee. Taken April 1939, Marshall, Texas, United States (Library of Congress). Mr Winn’s exact birthdate varies, but one book claims that Winn, interviewed in 1938, was born in 1832, which would’ve made him 106 or 107 years old at the time of this portrait by Russell Lee. The text reads, ‘Owned by Bob Winn of Louisiana’. Incidentally, Winn is the name of a parish in Louisiana.
