I’m torn between up voting the recognition of an atrocity or down voting it because I don’t like it. For the record, I did neither.
I heard someone speaking once about family members who never regained their muscle mass and weren’t able to replenish the fat they lost because they were burning a certain type of fat cell. Their story as a survivor was permanent in how they looked. Harsh lessons.
I’ve seen this picture many times. Today is the first time I realized it was a female. I always thought it was a male. Besides the nose, the female characteristics are non-existent.
These photos gut me. My (Jewish) great grandfather’s sister was a street vendor in Berlin and disappeared during “Kristall Nacht” when the Germans started their campaign of terror. It is assumed she died in a concentration camp.
