The armour is more like a heirloom at this point because at that time the Koryaks had become quite comfortable with firearms. So yes, they are only dressed like that for the photographer.
Very aware of some claims that these are actually Chukchi people. But the AMNH library supports that these are Koryak, so I went with that.
