ELI5: How does a trench protect from a bomb?
Why not straight line?
More likely to collapse entirely if placed in a straight line when receiving an impact. Zig zag will reduce level of collapse.
I love the two women towards the back with huge smiles as everyone else looks so dour. Looks like one of them just cracked a good joke.
I wonder where they got out again. Climbing in skirts like those is no joke.

What did you do in WW1 if you were over 6 feet tall? Just accept that you were going to get shot in the head early on?
Having to get in a trench while wearing white.
These people essentially lived in PUBG’s red zone daily.
There’s a BF1 map that looks very similar to this.
No grenade bays, trench isn’t deep enough, no fire step, no dug outs to take shelter in during particularly heavy shelling, I’m not even seeing thick rows of barbed wire or reinforced machine gun posts. They don’t even have a second line and communication trenches running back to it!
2/10 would not take cover in.
