That’s a really nice colorization. Usually the colors are over-saturated or the color tone is off. Great find!

Nice pensive character study. Interesting that he does not have any overcoat, web gear, pack or ammo bandoliers, making me think the photo was taken while his platoon was in reserve, more to the rear.

That’s some high quality grime going on.
As a reenactor I want this quality of grime in my life- its not something you get by rolling around in a mud puddle, this borders on “I’m homeless and have been living in an alley” level of grime that I’m apparently just not willing to put the time into. Grime level is one of the dead giveaways to authenticity- go to any reenactment anywhere in the world, its either going to be fresh out of the laundromat clean guys or people who rolled around in the dirt before the lights came on.
Good color job on this too, but the boots have lost their laces and presumably buckles, pretty sure the pants are the wrong color too.
