Wildcat fighters on the left and Dauntless dive bombers on the right?
Edit: /u/AgCat1340 pointed out that the landing gear is wrong for the planes on the left to be Wildcats and are most likely TBF Avengers.

Built in Newport News, this is her moving to the Pacific theatre after commissioning. She is now an awesome museum ship in Charleston SC. Cool photo!

I live about an hour from where it is now. I love going to see it, and they’ve been adding to the museum portions of the area over the years. There’s currently plans to make a large museum building at Patriots Point, I think.

Was this boat apart of the Vietnam war? I have been told my grandfather was apart of the crew in that era.
