Definitely not India’s first rocket unless it’s an old Mysorean rocket that they found. Mysorean rockets where used from the 1780’s onward as a form of artillery. There are even earlier rockets that have been used in India from the 1300’s onward.
From this to making the world record of launching the largest number of satellites on a single rocket…..
